Books about trips are so fun ... that was a great adventure .. in 1953 the Northwest was pretty empty! Thanks for the review.
Rabbits' Guy--I had no idea of that until I read the book. Of course, even the areas in Texas they visited--Rockport, the Rio Grande Valley--weren't very populated then either. Oh to be back in those simpler times!
