Today is the first day of my favorite season, autumn. Leaves are not yet turning, but they will be soon. I hope to get some good pics around the house, as we're lousy with maples and other great trees.
I looked in my photos folders for an old picture of autumn leaves, but I couldn't find any. Have I never taken photos of the red and gold leaves?
I walked around my new little town on Saturday and took some photos, but I forgot to bring my camera cord. Tomorrow, I'll have pics of "Victorian Bellefonte" for you.
I can't wait to see your new town.
ReplyDeleteI love fall...autumn, whatever the hell its called.
ReplyDeleteThis is when I miss living on the east coast...sigh.
Nothing like a new season in a new town. We're looking forward to a tour.
ReplyDeleteI love autumn too.
ReplyDeleteIn a bittersweet way. Reflective about the past, but very cleansing, as the usually plentiful rains settle the dryness of a hot summer.
The colors are easier on the eyes, too--at least for me, the golden tones calming, rust, earthy.
Fall Is my best time of the year. I do my best work then,I have more energy and I love it.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is also my fav season. My daughter was born then, just an extra reason to love it.
ReplyDeleteI saw in our local paper that Bellefonte had an apartment fire. Don't know how big your town is, but I thought--uh oh. But you are safe. That's good.
Thanks, Monkey.
ReplyDeleteDusty--I love having four seasons!
NCMtnWoman--I'm posting it now!
Nina--as usual, you stated my feelings in words far more beautiful and poetic than I could have.
JamesSpr--me too! I love being outside in the fall chill, working hard.
KGMom--yes, I am safe, but a coworker of mine lived in that complex. She said she got out with the clothes on her back and her cellphone. We're taking up a collection for her here at work. Poor kid.
I love autumn too. I spent much of Saturday evening reviewing last year's Happy October photos. We had such a dry summer, I doubt this year will live up to it. (Is that how that works? Or am I making that up?)
ReplyDeleteEarl--I don't really know! I know rainfall has something to do with it. We've had a bit of a dry summer as well, certainly in comparison with past summers.
