I've been thinking about this for some time now, as a way to amuse myself. I'll start a sentence and you finish it. Easy, no? Here we go...

E=mc2 means __________.

KIDDING! Seriously, here we go:

The Pythagorean Theorem states that ____________.

KIDDING AGAIN! hee hee hee! Sorry, but this is making me giggle. Okay -- really, now -- seriously. Here is your first real Finish the Phrase:

I stop moving for a while, and then have to get UP! Why do things get creaky so fast??

Same as Nina. They call it the "gel factor".

Why the "gel factor"? It feels more like the "glue factor," as in I've got glue in my joints and it's setting up nicely! Too bad I can't move....

Energy equals mass times the speed of light, squared.

The sum of the squares of the two adjacent sides of a right angle equals the square of the hypotenuse.

(OK, that was showing off. My real answer is...)

When I'm talking about where I was when I learned John Lennon had been killed, and some twenty-something CHILD says, "I wasn't alive in 1980." I mean, geez - I can't imagine an adult person who wasn't alive when John Lennon walked the earth.

Kathi--YES! The sad thing is that when I was a young college freshman, I pulled that routine on the older people in my American history class when they talked about JFK. (I was born in '64.) Now it's coming back to haunt me as younger people talk about listening to Tracy Chapman when they were in elementary, and I remember listening to her in COLLEGE. Oy vey.
