Happy Turkey Day!

Just think: for some people, a wild turkey would be a lifer.

Here's an interesting story to ponder while you stuff yourself tomorrow. Enjoy the holiday!

I'm thankful to have bloggy pals like you with whom I can share my little birdy adventures. Thanks for two years of fun!

Turkey lurkey.

In my aforementioned NYC area(20 miles away) home, I have wild turkeys in the backyard. It is hysterical to see them running around and then they do that crazy movement and take flight and end up in the trees.

Hi Delia - I'm trying to catch up with everyone's posts while also trying to sort through my pix from my New Mexico trip. I hope to post something really soon. BTW, I just wanted to tell you that I have read most (haven't finished it yet) of Kingbird Highway. Thanks so much for your book review of it; I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it so far. I hope to finish it by this weekend. It certainly is quick reading, and well written. I feel that I'm taking these trips with Kenn as he traveled.

I'm sorry I'm late to pop in and say Happy Thanksgiving. But anyway, hope it was a good one.

Yeah, most people never get to see a turkey in the wild; they're lots skinnier than the Butterballs.

Laura--back at ya!

Fran--I love that crazy way they run around! They're hilarious!

Matty--back at ya!

Mary C--can't wait to see your NM pics!

Larry--it's a shot I found on the Wildlife dept site; I suppose I should've credited it. Oops.

Dcup--back at ya, and better late than never.
